UMSFP strives to promote education and awareness of sustainable food in our community by especially providing valuable resources to our member groups and students who have an interest in engaging with or pursuing further education with sustainable food.
Off-Campus Food Guide
We are now happy to present to you the brand new Off-Campus Food Guide! This guide has information to help you purchase and prepare healthy, affordable, and sustainable food. The contents of the guide include recipe resources, nutrition tips, student organizations, cooking tutorials and classes, profiles of nearby grocery stores, transportation resources, budgeting tips, and more!
You can access the Food Guide here.
Member Group Resources
As the umbrella organization and student-administration liason for sustainable food-related student groups on campus, we try to provide our member groups with the resources they need to achieve their goals. Check out our "Member Group Resources" page to find recent grant postings, event invitations, and collaboration opportunities we think you might be interested in!
Although the UM Sustainable Food Program formed in 2012, we already have alumni doing impressive things in the world! Each week this fall, UMSFP will be featuring Q&A with a different alumnus about what they were up to during their time at UM, what they're involved with now, and favorite UMSFP memories. Each of the alumni we're featuring are happy to have current UMSFP students get in touch with them. Learn what kinds of opportunities are out there, and get connected by clicking here!
Are you graduating soon and looking to explore a career in the sustainable food-related industry? Or perhaps you are looking for a temporary summer internship in the field? We here at UMSFP receive the best and brightest of such opportunities, and we keep an updated listing of them here for you to explore! Wishing you the best of luck with your job hunt :)
UMSFP Office Hours
UMSFP was formed thanks to the ideas and efforts of students themselves, and we recognize that through student enthusiasm and innovation we will continue to flourish in even better ways! If you have an idea or question about how to promote or get involved with sustainable food on campus, we invite you to visit UMSFP's Program Manager, Alex Bryan's office hours! Also, Keith Soster, the Director of Student Engagement and Sustainability at Michigan Dining also hosts open office hours for students interested in projects or ideas involving food on campus.
