Silver LEED Certification
Green design and construction practices led to the C.S. Mott Children’s and Von Voigtlander Women’s hospitals being awarded LEED® Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Recycling 86 percent of construction waste, operating construction equipment on biodiesel fuel, and installation of a green roof with a natural storm-water management system are just some of the green features making the building environmentally friendly. This facility joins the three existing LEED certified buildings on campus: the Law School South Hall academic building (gold), the Samuel T. Dana Building (gold) and the Stephen M. Ross School of Business Building (silver).
