The university has issued annual sustainability reports since 2007 discussing activities and achievements toward creating a greener campus:
The more than 180 Environmental Metrics reported annually by the Office of Campus Sustainability present an overview of the University's environmental footprint and provide the data necessary for the Annual Sustainability Report and STARS.
Sustainability initiatives and projects are occurring everyday across campus. The Sustainability Projects reports help organize these projects, making it easy to see just how much of a difference Planet Blue is making.
In 2002, students with the School of Natural Resources and Environment prepared a prototype sustainability report as part of their Master's degree research. In 2007, the Office of Campus Sustainability issued the first official University of Michigan Environmental Report. Sustainability Reports are now released via a web format designed to engage readers while reducing paper waste.
