Planet Blue Ambassador Program

Are you interested in sustainability? Become a Planet Blue Ambassador today! Any U-M faculty member, staff, student, or alumnus can become a PBA by completing five online training modules (see below). Alternatively, if you have a student group or office of colleagues who would be interested in completing the training together, request a group training here. The group training takes about an hour and can be done as a "Lunch & Learn" activity.

Community members are also welcome to complete the PBA training by creating a U-M Friend Account here (open and free to anyone).

Why Become a Planet Blue Ambassador?

The Planet Blue Ambassador training is the entry point into our sustainablilty community on campus. Our goal is to empower and engage people like you with the information and resources they need to live, learn, and work more sustainably at U-M. Both the online and group trainings are organized around our campus sustainabilty goal areas of energy, food, waste, water, and community. In the training, you will learn about these goals, our progress on them to-date, why they are important, and how you can get involved in sustainability on campus.

Ambassadors are encouraged to lead by example and serve as sustainability champions. As an Ambassador, you will have access to a personalized Dashboard of sustainability actions, which automatically tracks your progress and impact. You will also receive additional resources as well as monthly e-newsletters highlighting sustainability events, workshops, and volunteer opportunities.

Also, as our thank you, newly-certified PBAs are entered into a drawing to win a small basket of vegetables from the U-M Campus Farm and to have your name on a row of crops! Five winners will be announced in October and April.
