About the Markets
The M Farmers Markets celebrate healthy eating and sustainable living during a day filled with chef demonstrations of easy recipes, tips for healthy eating, free samples, giveaways, information stations and more. Fresh fruits, veggies and other locally sourced food items from various farms in the nearby area will be available for purchase at each event. You’ll receive a reusable canvas tote bag with any purchase made!
As collaboration among the Michigan Dining, Central Student Government, MHealthy, Planet Blue, and the Student Sustainability Initiative, the M Farmers Markets provide a great opportunity to learn about featured farmers’ products and nutritional information, as well as connect with the event sponsors and services.
So, what can you do at the event? In addition to sampling various foods during the chef demos and discovering ways to live and eat sustainably, you can learn some easy, do-it-yourself recipes for making healthy and delicious food at home. The ingredients for such recipes can be purchased right at the M Farmers Market!
In addition to these large campus events, there are M Farmers Markets held weekly targeted to campus communities located within specific buildings. More information about these markets can be found on the MHealthy website.
