Come join this lecture session of SNRE’s Adaptation Seminar on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 5:40 to 7:30 p.m. in Dana 224 to learn more about tools and resources aimed at helping practitioners in various sectors and settings address climate change and build adaptation strategies into their work.

This session will feature remarks from two guest speakers: Richie Ahuja, of the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) and Beth Gibbons of U-M's Graham Sustainability Institute. Richie Ahuja will present his work on the ground in India at the intersections of climate adaptation, mitigation, and development. Beth Gibbons’ presentation will follow and highlight several climate change adaptation tools available in the field, including the Socioeconomics and Climate Change in the Great Lakes Region Interactive Map, recently launched as part of the Graham Institute's Great Lakes Adaptation Assessment for Cities (GLAA-C) project.
A discussion on the application of the many tools and resources which are out there, how students can leverage these tools for their own academic and professional development, and how the adaptation community measures success will accompany the presentations.

This open lecture is part of Climate Adaptation Week at U-M. Thank you to Prof. Rosina Bierbaum for opening up her Adaptation Seminar for these guest presentations.
